If a price was set for a specific download, the user will be able to download it only after making the payment. You can set a different price per each download. You can also set a cost for uploading files. Admin can set a different amount for each download separately or leave some downloads as free. |

What payment gateways does this plugin work with?
The Downloads Payments add-on uses the Easy Digital Downloads and WooCommerce Payments platforms which come with the PayPal payment gateway included by default. This is free to use which makes initial setup easy.
Easy Digital Downloads is compatible with many other payment gateways such as Stripe,PayU and Sofort as well as many more.
Some of these payment gateways will require additional payment to install.

Is this payments add-on compatible with WooCommerce?
Yes. WooCommerce is supported by the CM Downloads Payments add-on. The choice between Easy Digital Downloads and WooCommerce is made in the Configuration Settings.

Does this plugin require of the user that they pay to upload files or to download them?
Only to download them. This plugin is primarily focused on allowing you to create a digital content store or marketplace.

Who sets the price for each download?
The original uploader of the file initially sets the price for the download. Later the admin can modify prices for files on the site through the admin panel.

Can coupon codes be created for Download Manager files?
Yes. Both the Easy Digital Downloads and WooCommerce eCommerce platforms support the creation of coupon codes.
Do customers have to use PayPal to purchase my downloads or can they just pay with card?
The Easy Digital Downloads and WooCommerce both come with the free PayPal payment gateway by default. This can be configured for accepting card payments directly using Guest Checkout.
If however you would like something a little more user friendly both eCommerce platforms have a plethora of other payment gateways such as Stripe, SoFort and PayU.
Some will cost for the initial download and there are differences in commission rates and conversion rates between currencies. So should do a little research to find the one that best suits you.
